Pro-Democracy demonstrators in Hong Kong waved American flags while gathered at Edinburgh Place, a public square in central Hong Kong, on Thursday, November 28.  This display followed the signing of two pro-democracy bills by U.S. President Donald J. Trump.  Millions of Hong Kong residents have been protesting for months, initially in opposition to a bill introduced by the pro-Beijing government in Hong Kong that would have allowed for the extradition of Hong Kong residents to mainland China for trial.  Over time, the protests have expanded to include demands for more political autonomy.
