President Donald J. Trump met with the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee and LA 2028 Organizers during his recent trip to Los Angeles to congratulate the Committee for their work in bringing the 2028 Olympics to Los Angeles.
During the meeting, President Trump noted the economic benefit that would come with the Olympics, including the creation of 112,000 jobs and the addition of $18 billion to the American economy, including $7 billion in wages for American workers. Trump noted that there would be no cost to the taxpayer for bringing the Olympics to America.
Also during the event, Chad Wolf, Acting Secretary of Homeland Security, said that preparations are already underway in the Department to ensure the security and safety of the Olympics.
