The U.S. Census Bureau, a nonpartisan government agency, has been busy preparing to conduct the 2020 Census. Mandated by the Constitution of the United States, the Census counts every person living in the country.
The results of the count have important implications for local communities; they determine your representation in Congress and also the amount of federal funding your community receives for many programs. Census results effect funding for everything from schools to safety.
Beginning in March, the Census Bureau will begin inviting households across the country to participate in the 2020 Census. Local officials in Pocatello and Chubbuck have been encouraging residents to participate in the Census.
