After a third place showing in South Carolina, and having won no delegates in primaries and caucuses to date, billionaire climate change and pro-impeachment activist Tom Steyer has dropped out of the race for the Democratic Party’s nomination for President.

Steyer began his campaign for his party’s nomination for President on July 9, 2019, with a campaign video posted to Twitter.  It is estimated that he spent about $20 million on his campaign.
