As we continue, worldwide, to fight the coronavirus pandemic, an international study undertaken by the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security (JHU) and the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) developed in conjunction with The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) found that the United States is first in preparedness for epidemics and pandemics.

The study, which predates the coronavirus, determined that no country was well prepared for a pandemic.  Even so, the study found that the United States was far ahead of most counties with respect to health security and capabilities.
