The Democratic Party held their virtual National Convention last week from Monday, August 17 through Thursday, August 20, and the results were great! At least, they were great for President Trump.
According to the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll, Trumps approval jumped four percentage points, from 47% of likely voters approving of his job performance to 51% approving, from the start to the end of the convention. The last time the President’s approval rating was higher than this on the Presidential Tracking Poll was February 27.
Trump derided the Convention, noting the speeches were pre-taped, and commenting that they would be helpful if you wanted “a snooze.”
Maybe, though, the President has it wrong. With this kind of result, perhaps the President’s best campaign strategy would be to support more DNC conventions. After all, why bother with the time and expense of a convention for the RNC when your opponent is delivering results like this?
