Every third Friday in September is recognized as National POW*MIA Awareness Day. This year, Friday, September 18, is POW*MIA Awareness Day. Observed across the nation by Americans who take the time to recognize those who were prisoners of war and those who are missing in action, Pocatello residents will mark the day with a ceremony which will begin on that date at 7:00 p.m.
The ceremony will take place at the Southeast Idaho Veterans Memorial at Upper Ross Park. As is done elsewhere across the country, Pocatello’s local POW/MIA ceremony will focus on sustaining commitment to account for our nation’s unreturned veterans.
