Boise, Idaho – The Leadership in Nuclear Energy (LINE) Commission will meet virtually Oct. 14 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. MT and receive an important update on the future of the Versatile Test Reactor, technology that will enable the U.S. Department of Energy to modernize essential nuclear energy research and development infrastructure in the next decade.

Congressman Mike Simpson will provide an update on the status of the Fiscal Year 2021 congressional appropriations process and its impact on Idaho National Laboratory and the development of advanced nuclear technologies at 8:30 a.m. MT.

Nuclear Regulatory Commission Chairman Kristine Svinicki also will discuss ongoing efforts to license new nuclear technologies in the United States.
