At their regularly scheduled meeting last night, members of Pocatello’s AMVETS Idaho Post 1 elected Chris Riley to the position of Adjutant.  Immediately following his election, Riley was sworn in by AMVETS Idaho Post 1 Commander Lance Kolbet.

Riley said, “I am very honored to be selected to this position and want to strive each day to put my fellow veterans and post first.”

As Adjutant, Riley is responsible for the administrative support for the post.  He is charged with taking minutes and maintaining all records.  The Adjutant is responsible for correspondence, handles routine business of the post, and serves as the liaison officer between the post and the community, as well as the department and National Headquarters.  Other duties include maintaining files of all correspondence and on all members.
