If you’re looking for a safe and fun way to celebrate Halloween this year and still ‘trick or treat,’ consider going to one of the many ‘Trunk or Treat’ events that are happening throughout the day this Saturday, October 31.

Trunk or Treat events are being held at the following locations:

Faith Lutheran Church, 856 W. Eldredge Road, Pocatello

1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Their Facebook event page states:  “With the roll back to stage 3 here in Idaho we have some extra steps we are taking to make sure this is a safe and fun event.  We will be spacing the vehicles out and having only one family group at each station at a time.  We will have volunteers helping guide participants and helping keep our distancing.  The persons handing out treats will be in gloves.
Our Teal Pumpkin friends will be marked by a sticker so please let the volunteer at the start know if any in your party are going candy free.  That way each vehicle can put the right treats out for you.
The hot dog and hot beverage station will be different this year as well.  We could not think of a safe and cost effective way to do the warm drinks so they will be absent this year.  Hot dogs will be individually wrapped for your safety.  Condiments will also be individual and available upon request.
We thank you for your understanding with all the changes and we hope you have a safe and fun Halloween.”
Salvation Army, Pocatello, Event at Caldwell Park, 700 E. Lewis St., Pocatello
5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Their Facebook event page states:  “The Salvation Army Pocatello Outpost Trunk or Treat,
This event is public and it will be socially distant as humanly possible while allowing the kids to get candy and have fun.
All candy is provided by The Salvation Army and their donors and you can also get a sanitizing wipe for the parents to check and wipe the candy.
Please do respect each other’s space and wear proper PPE.”
POW*MIA Awareness Association, Golden Corral Parking Lot, 850 Yellowstone Avenue, Pocatello (Trunk or Treat and Toys for Tots Toy Drive)
5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Their Facebook event page states:  “Join us in the Golden Corral parking lot Saturday, October 31st from 5-7pm for the POW*MIA Awareness Association Trunk-or-Treat Toy Drive. Pass the word! Bring your little goblins to trick or treat and drop off a new unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots. Cash donation will also be accepted.”
