The City of Pocatello has added the position of Probationary Firefighter to the list of employment opportunities.
According to the City’s website, “The Probationary Firefighter responds to and extinguishes structure, wildland, vehicle, and wildland urban interface fires by using suppression and extinguishing agents such as water foam and chemicals; maintains knowledge of fire suppression and life saving procedures; maintains physical fitness to ensure a high level of stamina and endurance; provides emergency medical assistance to the injured and sick through the use of EMT skills; prepares detailed reports and maintains records on incidents; trains and assists in training other firefighters; helps conduct pre-plans and prevention activities; assists in public education; obtains EMT license; and maintains fire station and grounds.”
