A 2021 Idaho Legislature Preview – January 6 at 7 pm

The League of Women Voters of Pocatello presents the first of two Legislative Forums with three of our six representatives in Districts 28 and 29.  On January 6 from 7 to 8 pm, we will hear from Rep. Randy Armstrong (28), Dist. Rep. Dustin Manwaring (29), and Rep. James Ruchti (29) who will discuss their expectations and views on upcoming legislative issues and bills.  The second forum will be held on January 19.  The Zoom meeting can be joined for free by the public at this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86776791034

After each Legislator has presented their perspectives, the League of Women Voters moderator will present questions that were previously submitted.  These questions include such topics as taxes, education funding and the budget surplus, Medicaid Expansion, our K-12 Science Standards, the climate, redistricting, and more.

Randy Armstrong (R), Dist. 28 House Seat A, will be entering his third term where he is the State Affairs  Vice-Chair.  He also serves on the Business Committee as well as  the Environment, Energy & Technology Committee.

Dustin Manwaring (R), Dist. 29 Seat A, returns to the Idaho Legislature after one term in the House from 2016-2018.  He will be joining the Resources & Conservation , Revenue & TaxationTransportation & Defense Committees.

James Ruchti (D), District 29 House Seat B, previously served in the House from 2006-2010.  During his new term, Mr. Ruchti will be serving on the following committees: Revenue and Taxation, Judicial and Rules, and Agriculture.
