Pocatello’s Faith Lutheran Church will be holding the installation service for Pastor Kirk Triplett this coming Sunday, March 14, at 3:00 p.m.
Pastor Triplett was introduced to the congregation at Faith Lutheran in December, 2018, after his father-in-law, who has been a Lutheran pastor for over two decades, introduced him to Pastor Jonathan Dinger of Grace Lutheran, also in Pocatello. Pastor Dinger told Triplett of the need for a pastor at Faith Lutheran. Triplett and his wife, after prayerful consideration, made the decision to visit the church.
Following their meeting, Faith Lutheran offered Triplett the opportunity to come to the church as Worship Director as he completed the necessary education and other requirements to become a Lutheran Church pastor. Triplett joined the church as Worship Director in June, 2019.
In January of 2021 Triplett completed all of the necessary requirements to become a Lutheran pastor. In addition, he has also now finished the work for his Doctorate, in which he researched the positive influence that actions of congregations have on the mental health of pastors.
Triplett said that he recognized his need for salvation and the forgiveness of sins that He offers at age 6. Raised in a Christian home, he grew up in church, watching his grandfather lead music and his father serve on the church Board.
In 1998, Triplett began serving as the Worship Leader and Assistant Pastor at Calvary Chapel, Shingle Springs, California. In 2007 he moved to a church in Belen, New Mexico, where he served as Worship Leader and Assistant Pastor. In 2013, he left Belen to plant a church in Northern California.
Of his call to Faith Lutheran, Triplett said, “Since arriving in June 2019, the church has continued to grow and welcome people from the community. My vision for the church is to be a place where we celebrate the joy of knowing Jesus because we have been miraculously forgiven. I hope to continue to reach the community by helping people know that they are greatly loved and that there is hope for the future. I am excited to see what God has in store for Pocatello through Faith. The future is bright and we are just beginning!”
