At a meeting of the Elko County Commissioners held on June 2, 2021, the Commissioners voted unanimously in favor of joining the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (CSPOA), taking a stand on government intrusion on Constitutionally protected rights.

Resolution 2021-19 lists ten “abuses” that “will not be allowed or tolerated in Elko County.”  They include restrictions on the free exercise of religion, depriving citizens of life liberty or property without due process, registration of firearms under any circumstances, and more.

Elko County is the second county in the nation to approve such a resolution.  Lander County, Nevada, passed a similar resolution earlier.
