Pocatello–Bannock County’s general election wasn’t a clear win for either end of the political spectrum. While Republicans seemed poised to win every County and District position after the Election Day vote was counted, some saw their leads slip away when the early and absentee votes were included. By morning, the unofficial totals were:
District 28 (approximately 8,900 votes were cast)
Senator:
- Jim Guthrie (Rep): 70.13%
- Mike Saville (Ind): 29.87%
Representative, position A:
- Rick Cheatum (Rep): 100%
Representative, position B:
- Dan Garner (Rep): 100%
District 29 (approximately 14,500 votes were cast)
Senator:
- James Ruchti (Dem): 54.07%
- David Worley (Rep): 45.93%
Representative, position A:
- Dustin Manwaring (Rep): 52.22%
- Mary Shea (Dem): 47.78%
Representative, position B:
- Nate Roberts (Dem): 50.39%
- Jake Stevens (Rep): 49.61%
District 35 (approximately 1,400 votes were cast)
Senator:
- Mark Harris (Rep): 100%
Representative, position A:
- Kevin Andrus (Rep): 100%
Representative, position B:
- Josh Wheeler (Rep): 100%
Bannock County (approximately 25,000 votes were cast)
Commissioner, 2nd District:
- Lisa Alexander (Dem): 39.73%
- Jeff Hough (Rep): 60.27%
Commissioner, 3rd District:
- John Crowder (Rep): 58.63%
- Kathleen Lewis (Dem): 41.37%
Clerk of Court:
- Jason Dixon (Rep): 100%
Treasurer:
- Jennifer Clark (Dem): 100%
Assessor:
- Tamara Code (Dem): 37.40%
- Anita Hymas (Rep): 62.60%
Coroner:
- Torey Danner (Rep): 100%
Election results will be officially canvassed by the Bannock County Commissioners on Tuesday, November 15.
