Idaho Falls–Steph Lucas, whose daily radio show has been a staple for conservatives across the region, switched last week from radio to TV news.

Lucas has accepted a position as assistant news director at KIFI Local News 8, which is owned by the national TV news firm News Press Gazette.  Their broadcast area extends from northern Utah through east Idaho and into western Wyoming and Montana.  They focus on local stories throughout the region.

In her new role, Lucas will help determine what stories are most relevant to the local audience.  As a history major, she has a passion for telling both sides of stories to provide an overview of what’s happening.  She wants to find out what people are interested in, keep them informed, and make sure they feel their concerns are taken seriously.

Lucas is also looking forward to covering more legislative stories.  She wants to highlight the costs of proposed legislation, as well as the opportunities the proposals offer to Idahoans.

“I’m totally going to miss radio, but this is a good skill set to add,” Lucas told the Observer.  “I felt like this was the right thing to do.”
