Idaho Falls–Stand Up For Idaho, an Idaho Falls-based nonpartisan citizens’ organization that peacefully and actively advocates for the rights and liberties of all Idaho citizens, is hosting a presentation on growing plants without soil at their next Wednesday meeting.  Local hydroponics grower Larry Berg will speak on “Hydroponics – Beating the Food Scarcity” on April 26.

SUFI’s announcement reads:

A few weeks ago Larry showed us how hydroponics is an alternative to in-ground gardening for growing fruits and vegetables. Now he is going to show us how to create our own hydroponics garden.  If you think hydroponics may be a viable alternative for you, go buy a 5-gal container like the ones pictured in the attachment (I found mine at Lowes in Idaho Falls) and come prepared to start your own hydroponics garden.

Larry provided the following links for other items he uses.  You don’t need everything for the workshop but do bring your boxes and Larry will cut out the tops for you.

The class will be held at the Snake River Event Center (Shilo Inn), located at 780 Lindsay Blvd. in Idaho Falls.  Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the class begins at 6:30 p.m.
