Pocatello–Local high schooler Daniel Harrington is starting a club for teens who are interested in conservative politics, but don’t know how they can make a difference.  The club, named “Christ and Culture,” is intended to help like-minded teens network and increase their impact.

Harrington explained, “I’m noticing a lot of teenagers have views like I do or have parents that have views that are conservative, but they don’t know how to use their voices.  If teenagers knew that they had a voice, that would make a big impact on our government.”  Each month, he plans to invite a speaker who will help club members learn to refine and express their political views.  Some presentations will cover practical topics, such as how to communicate effectively with government officials.  Other presentations will be more informational, such as explaining different facets of the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

The Christ and Culture Club’s first meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, May 19th, at the Purpose Building, located at 224 N Main St. in Pocatello’s Old Town.  The speaker will be David Worley, who is a Christian, an Iraq War Veteran, and a graduate of Pocatello High School.  After the meeting, Worley invites the teens to join him for laser tag at Outer Limits.

Eventually, Harrington hopes to see the club find a home on each of the local high school campuses.  He says, “I’m very excited to see where this club can go with very motivated, strong young people.”
