On June 1, the Idaho Freedom Foundation launched a month-long series highlighting individuals whose contributions to American culture have helped make America great.  Writer Brian Almon’s first article, about Thomas Sowell, opened by declaring, “Welcome to Pride in America Month, a celebration of the men and women who made our country great. Every day in the month of June and through Independence Day, we will be highlighting a figure who has demonstrated and defended American values. Consider it a healthy alternative to the Left’s June celebration that has taken over the media and corporate America.”

So far, the ‘Pride in America’ series has recognized people as diverse as explorer Davy Crockett, entrepreneur Elon Musk, saleswoman Nancy Green, and athlete Riley Gaines.  The most recent post focuses on James Madison, the Father of the U.S. Constitution.

Author Niklas Kleinworth examines Madison’s crowning achievement–the writing of the Constitution–and contrasts Madison’s vision for the government with the current political culture in America.  He concludes, “Unlike other political heroes that have statues, land, and monuments attesting to their achievements, Madison’s monument is the Constitution itself, and the values it protects. Preserving Madison’s legacy means preserving the Constitution, the balance of government, and our God-given liberties forever.”
