(Idaho Department of Education Press Release, November 28, 2023)
Boise–Idaho Superintendent of Public Instruction Debbie Critchfield issued the following statement after the U.S. Department of Education announced today that Idaho will receive grant funding to expand existing community school programs across the state.
“Community schools have been part of the education landscape in Idaho for years, and I appreciate that their success is being acknowledged with these grant funds. By offering additional services to our most vulnerable students, community schools help provide kids some of the basics they need to learn in the classroom. These grants mean more districts can consider participating to benefit their students and communities.”
Critchfield recently highlighted Marsing’s community school program on “The Super in 10” podcast. You can learn more about that work by listening here.
