2023 was a good year for Bannock County. Let’s look back at some of our most-loved posts from the year.

July 4th, 2023!

This photo gallery of our Independence Day Celebration got a lot of love on Facebook. The Bannock County Independence Day Celebration is one of our community’s favorite events every year. It takes months of planning and lots of support from community partners to pull off such a spectacular event.

Bannock County and McCammon partner to improve emergency medical services for Marsh Valley area

People were very pleased to hear about the new EMS support station coming to McCammon, and we understand why. With response times for ambulances taking up to 30 minutes, this will be a vital resource for Marsh Valley residents. The facility is expected to be operational in the fall of 2024.

Cutting the ribbon for The Village: A Place for Youth and Families

This was one of our proudest moments of 2023! The community gathered to help welcome The Village, a resource center for struggling youth. This project was led by Todd Mauger, Bannock County’s Chief Juvenile Probation Officer. The purpose of The Village is to divert children from the justice system and get them the help they need.

Graduating Veterans Treatment Court

Bannock County and the surrounding community rallies behind our local veterans. That was evident when this post became one of our top-performing posts of 2023.

PFC Chevy Much and Specialist Will Hess both graduated from the 6th Judicial District’s Veterans Treatment Court in July. Veterans Treatment Court is a special court that helps veterans turn their lives around and overcome addiction. Congratulations to these two for making it through a tough program and coming out stronger on the other side!

Vigil for Suicide Prevention Awareness

In September, we hosted our first-ever suicide prevention vigil in honor of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. The vigil helped launch #pleasejuststay, a local movement to connect people to resources for suicide prevention. This post reached more than 1,500 people, and we hope it encouraged at least one person to get help and “just stay.” Visit pleasejuststay.us for more local resources or call/text 988 if you need help right away.
