It’s now been two months since we implemented the take-a-number walk-in system at the DMV, and we have been pleasantly surprised by the positive feedback we’ve received. We got rid of the kiosk that you had to sign into, so now, when walking in, all you have to do is take a number and wait in line. You can still make appointments on our website, which is great if you prefer this option. We’ve worked through a few glitches (sometimes our ticket dispenser gives out more tickets than it should), but overall, we are very pleased with the change.
We have a new face behind the DMV window – Liz from the Driver’s License department is joining us this month. Liz is replacing Jaree, who is transitioning to an appraisal assistant in the Assessor’s Office. Please help us welcome Liz and congratulate Jaree for her advancement!
We continue to welcome your feedback to help us improve our service to the public. As you may know, the Idaho Transportation Department is encouraging people to renew registrations and register their cars online. They are also encouraging people to mail their registration renewals to them, which now goes straight to their processing center in Boise and not through the county DMV like it used to. We realize that using these online options through ITD can be more convenient. However, it does take away revenue from our county. Because of this, we want to make sure we are providing excellent customer service and make it so that you want to come in here to the local office. We also have our drop box just outside our door in the parking lot and are still offering registration by phone. So again, I encourage any feedback that will help us to serve our residents better and keep your business and revenue in Bannock County.
