Pocatello–This past Tuesday evening, the Board of Trustees of Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25 began their regular meeting by electing a new slate of officers. Ms. Deanna Judy was chosen as Chairwoman in a 3-2 vote, while Ms. Angie Oliver becomes Vice Chair. Ms. Heather Clark was elected Assistant Clerk, and newly-elected board member Mr. Ray Knoff was selected as the Assistant Treasurer.
Ms. Judy hopes to increase both public and parental involvement during her time as School Board Chair. “I’m looking forward to the opportunity to be a liaison between the public and the school. I look forward to having more of an opportunity to hear from parent advisory groups, and to give parents a more active role within the schools their children attend. Additionally, I would like to propose that we create a budget oversight committee made up of community members, parents, and teachers. I think it could be a valuable resource and create more of an environment of cooperation and trust,” she told the Observer.
