Pocatello–Over two years ago, state and federal cases were filed against the City of Pocatello and several city officials, alleging a conspiracy to deprive local ranchers of the use of a section of their property located near the Northgate development. The cases were dismissed last summer on procedural grounds, but the Rupp and Hart families still hope to regain access to their property.
The Rupp and Hart families’ story is told in a soon-to-be-released docuseries produced by Western Justice, a non-profit “dedicated to preserving the present and ensuring the future of RURAL AMERICA.” The trailer for that docuseries has been nominated for an Emmy Award, as Western Justice explains on their Facebook page:
Western Justice is excited to announce that our first documentary project, The Great Pocatello Land Grab has been nominated for an Emmy Award for its trailer!
The docuseries, which is still in production, will consist of 4-5 episodes and aims to expose the alleged criminal dealings, collusion, and greed perpetrated by various institutions. The show follows two generations of ranching families from southeast Idaho as they fight to save their land from this complex network of fraud and racketeering.
We are currently shopping for broadcasting companies and plan to release the first two episodes in the summer. To learn more about The Great Pocatello Land Grab and view the trailer go to, https://www.wjustice.org/pocatellolandgrab.
