I’m coming to your inbox a little early this month to share an update with you about your upcoming assessment notices.
We are pleased to announce that we are mailing the 2024 assessment notices a week early this year. Idaho Code requires notices to be mailed by the first Monday in June, but we are getting them to you early to allow you an extra week to review your assessment and ask any questions.
What you need to know:
- Notices will be mailed on May 28th and should arrive in your mailbox within a week
- If you do not receive your notice by June 4th, please call our office at 208-236-7260
- If you purchased a home or property within the last 2 weeks, please call us to ensure you receive your notice in time
- If you signed up to receive your notice via email, please check your email for your notice
New this year:
- We have updated the online parcel viewer with the new 2024 assessment values. Please note that these values are NOT FINAL until they are certified in mid-July or early August.
- New legislation requires we include an additional previous year’s value, two previous years of tax bills, and your taxing district’s information in your assessment notice. If you have questions about your tax portion, please contact the Treasurer’s Office at 208-236-7220. Please remember that your assessment notice is NOT A BILL. Your 2024 property tax bill will be calculated after taxing districts set their budgets.
Appealing your assessed value:
- If you do not agree with your assessed value, please talk with our appraisers to determine if there are any issues with your assessment.
- If, after speaking with an appraiser, you still do not agree with your assessed value, you can appeal to the Board of Equalization. Appeal forms are available online and in the courthouse.
- Appeals are DUE MONDAY, JUNE 24, by 5 PM!
