Monday through Friday 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.

SIPH will provide air conditioning, water, snacks, basic activities (coloring books, games, etc.) bathrooms, seating and the ability to charge cell phones.

SIPH would greatly appreciate any resources or support that can be provided.

At this time, SIPH needs for resources/items are:

  • Bottled Water
  • Allergen-friendly, pre-packaged snacks (dairy-free, peanut-free, etc.)
  • Toys for children, board games
  • Coloring books, coloring pencils, crayons
  • Possible locations for other cooling centers, and volunteers (especially medically trained people) who may be able to assist with such centers.
  • Portable generators to provide backup support for other such cooling centers.

TRANSPORTATION UPDATE:

Transportation to Cooling Centers in Pocatello can be accessed by using Pocatello Regional Transit (PRT) via its A,B,C,D, or E Routes for those in need of transportation.  The bus routes, including the bus stop locations and scheduled times, can be found at https://pocatellotransit.com/fixed-route-services/.  Cost to ride for general public is $1.00 one-way and all fare options can be viewed by visiting https://pocatellotransit.com/fares/.  Additional help on how to ride can be viewed at https://pocatellotransit.com/how-to-ride/ or by contacting PRT dispatch at 208-234-2287.  Door-to-Door services are also available to ADA-qualified persons for $2.00 one-way and senior citizens 60 years and older for a suggested donation of $2.00 one-way.  More information about door-to-door services can be found at https://pocatellotransit.com/door-to-door-services/ or by calling PRT at 208-232-0111.
