Pocatello’s Parks and Recreation Department has announced, “Float the Portneuf, Tuesdays in August.”
Event Details:
Learn more about the river which flows right through town! Each outing will take us to a different section of the Portneuf. You’ll learn about the launches and takeout points, obstacles, kayak paddle strokes and maneuvers, and river skills. All equipment provided. Program end time and river sections subject to change based on water level conditions.
Prerequisite: Must know how to swim.
Tuesday, August 13 – Cheyenne to Taysom
Tuesday, August 20 – Edson Fichter to Taysom
Tuesday, August 27 – Batiste*
*Must have attended a previous outing or have good kayak handling skills.
