Sheldon Barfuss has been named the Bannock County Fair Grand Marshall for 2024.

In selecting Barfuss as Grand Marshall, the Bannock County Fair Board published the following tribute in the Fair Book this year:

Sheldon was born and raised in Virginia Idaho.  He is a Marsh Valley graduate. He lettered in wrestling and was a state champion.  He furthered his education by receiving refrigeration and electrical training in Denver Colorado.

He married Rhonda in 1968.  They moved to Pocatello where he worked for Coco Cola then Boise Cascade.  They moved to Downey where Sheldon owned Marsh Valley Hardware.  He then worked at Nucor Steel and also started his own electrical business, Marsh Valley Electric, which he owned 30 years. He has recently retired and turned his
business over to Kade.

Sheldon has loved being the Bannock County Fair Chairman.  He has also been an intricate part in bringing new life to the fair.  During his time as chairman, the facility has been updated with new bleacher covers, new barns and an indoor arena.

Sheldon is grateful and would like to thank the board for their help and dedication.

Sheldon and his wife have four children, twenty-three grandchildren , twelve great grandchildren with one more on the way.
