This morning [Wednesday, January 22, 2025], Rep. Kent Marmon presented SCR 101, the resolution to stop the legislator pay raise, to the Ways and Means Committee. Though it was passed by the Senate, Rep. Jason Monks resorted to making false claims against the resolution and argued he himself has done enough to deserve a pay raise. Instead of upholding the will of the people and the resolution the Idaho Republican Party passed, the committee voted to table the resolution, allowing for the pay increase to go through. The only nay on tabling the resolution was Rep. Jaron Crane.
