(SD25 Press Release, August 6, 2025)

POCATELLO, ID – The Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25 (PCSD 25) is excited to welcome learners and families back for the start of the 2025-2026 school year on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. We are committed to fostering a welcoming environment where every learner feels connected, supported, and empowered to succeed.

Below is important information to help families prepare for a successful start to the school year.—

New Elementary School Registration – August 7

Learners entering grades K-5 who are brand new to PCSD 25 may register for the 2025-2026 school year in person at their enrollment area school on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Families must provide:

· Birth certificate

· Immunization records

· Proof of residence

Please note: moving into or living within a school boundary does not guarantee placement at a specific school. Placement is based on available space in that grade level at that school. To find your enrollment area school, visit sd25.us/find-my-enrollment.

When you join PCSD 25, you’re joining a learning community that values your learner’s unique gifts and is dedicated to helping them Think More. Learn More. Be MORE TOGETHER.

REMINDER: Check Your Enrollment & Attendance Area for 2025-2026

In January 2025, PCSD 25 completed adjustments to enrollment and attendance areas for the 2025-2026 school year. These changes may have impacted the neighborhood school your child attends.

We encourage all families to review the updated enrollment maps to determine if your school assignment has changed. Visit sd25.us/find-my-enrollment and type your address into the search bar, then click on the house icon for the most accurate information.

Making sure you have the right school information now helps us start the year strong—together.

Electronic Communication Device Policy

PCSD 25 would like to remind families about the district’s updated electronic communication device policy, designed to support a focused and respectful learning environment.

· Devices must be off, out of sight, and not on a learner’s person.

· Devices may be stored in locker, backpack, or bag.

· High School: Lunch Use OK.

· Smartwatches: Elementary & HS in School Mode Only.

· Middle School: No smartwatches.

We encourage families to review the complete policy on our district website so learners are prepared for the first day: sd25.us/morefocus

School Bus Safety Reminder

As learners return to school, PCSD 25 would like to inform, educate, and remind our community about the importance of safety around school buses. When a bus’s stop arm is extended and red lights are flashing, all traffic in both directions must stop. This law is in place to protect learners as they load and unload from the bus.

Please help us keep our learners safe by remaining alert, following posted speed limits in school zones, and watching for children crossing the street. Together, we can ensure every learner arrives at school—and returns home—safely.

— For additional information, please visit sd25.us/backtoschool or contact your learner’s school directly. The PCSD 25 District Office can also be reached at (208) 232-3563.
