UPDATE: Single-Vehicle Crash Near Blackfoot Leads to Complete Blockage

Blackfoot–Idaho State Police is investigating a single vehicle injury crash that occurred at approximately 8:47 p.m. on October 30, 2025, on I15 at milepost 92 in Bingham County.

A 46-year-old-male from Jerome was traveling southbound on I15 in a white 2026 Kenworth towing an empty milk tanker. The driver of the Kenworth drove off the left side of the roadway striking a bridge pillar supporting the Riverton Rd overpass.

The driver was transported via air ambulance to a local hospital.

The structural integrity of the Riverton overpass was compromised during the collision and will be closed to all traffic.

Both the north and southbound lanes of I15 have also been closed. Motorists should expect to be detoured to exits 89 and 93. All detoured traffic should use the I15 business loop and US 91. Check 511.idaho.gov for the latest traffic conditions.

Idaho State Police were assisted by Bingham County Sheriff, Blackfoot Police Department, Bingham County EMS, and Idaho Transportation Department.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
