The City of Pocatello is pleased to welcome Liam Hughes as the new Animal Services Manager. In this role, Liam will work alongside the Animal Services team to strengthen the bond between pets and people through education and outreach.

Before joining the City of Pocatello, Liam was the Director of Animal Welfare for the State of Maine and also the Director of Animal Control for Washington Humane Society in Washington, D.C.

“I’m honored to join the City of Pocatello team and excited to serve the residents of this great community,” said Liam. “I look forward to supporting the City’s mission and working with departments to make a positive difference.”

“We’re thrilled to have Liam on board,” said Mayor Brian Blad. “His experience and fresh perspective will be a valuable asset to the City.”

Liam accepted the job in September and was able to relocate with his family to Pocatello in October.
