In a recent article, McCullough Foundation epidemiologist Nicolas Hulscher discussed the retraction of the 1999 safety review that formed the basis for the approval of Monsanto’s popular herbicide, Roundup (glyphosate).  Hulscher lists four reasons for the retraction:

  1. The review was “based almost entirely on Monsanto’s unpublished studies”
  2. It shows “evidence of ghostwriting by Monsanto”
  3. It failed to disclose financial ties to Monsanto
  4. It failed to acknowledge Monsanto’s contributions to its content

Hulscher also included links to studies that demonstrate a link between glyphosate and various types of cancers.  His full article is available here; the retraction notice can be read here.
