“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
This Christmas, amid the season’s hustle and bustle, we invite you to pause and remember.
We tell the same story year after year, the stable, the shepherds, the baby in the manger. And yet somehow, it is still possible to rush right past what it really means. God did not just send words or a grand idea down from heaven. He gave His own Son.
Think about that night in Bethlehem. A young girl, far from home, giving birth in a barn. No fanfare, no palace, nothing that looked like the arrival of the King of Kings. Yet there He was, fully God and fully man, wrapped in rags and laid in a feed trough.
Hundreds of years earlier, Isaiah put it plainly:
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6
That promise was fulfilled in the quiet of that stable. The Mighty God. The Prince of Peace. Born as a helpless child.
It’s worth pausing to remember.
Slow down this season, even if only for a moment. In the middle of the shopping, the lights, and the family gatherings, remember why we are celebrating at all. God knew the condition of the world and still chose to give us His beloved Son. That gift did not begin and end in Bethlehem; it spans all of history and is offered to us even now.
In a world that often feels unsettled and divided, we can trust that God has not turned His back on us. He is still present, still faithful, and still loving the world He created.
From all of us, we wish you and your families a Merry Christmas. May you find real peace in the gift of the Savior’s birth and the enduring love of our God.
