The City of Pocatello welcomed Mayor Mark Dahlquist and City Council Members Dakota Bates, Stacy Satterfield, and Ann Swanson during the City Council meeting on Thursday, January 8, 2026.

A lifelong Pocatello resident, Mayor Dahlquist brings extensive leadership and management experience to the role. From 2007 to 2025, he served as Chief Executive Officer of NeighborWorks Pocatello, focusing on housing, community development, and neighborhood revitalization. Prior to that, he spent 17 years in leadership and management roles with Farmers Insurance.

Mayor Dahlquist holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Business Management from Idaho State University and completed the NeighborWorks Achieving Excellence leadership program through the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in 2022. His career honors include the Idaho State Journal’s 2018 Business Achievement Award for Outstanding Non-Profit Business Leader, the Pocatello-Chubbuck Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Citizen Award in 2020, and the Award for Management Excellence from Farmers Insurance in 2007.

During the same meeting, the City also recognized Council Members Dakota Bates, Stacy Satterfield, and Ann Swanson as part of the swearing-in following the November election.

Dakota Bates has served on the Pocatello City Council since June 2025, after being nominated by former Mayor Brian Blad and unanimously approved by the City Council to fill vacant Seat #4. Bates was subsequently elected by the community to continue serving in that role.

Stacy Satterfield (Seat #5) and Ann Swanson (Seat #6) were sworn in during the January 8 meeting and officially began their terms after being elected by the community.

Together, the Mayor and City Council members will work with City leadership and staff to represent residents and address issues impacting the City of Pocatello.

Community members with questions or comments may contact Mayor Dahlquist at 208-234-6163 or mayor@pocatello.gov.
