This 4th of July, our nation marks its 250th birthday. As we celebrate two and a half centuries of our country’s journey toward liberty and justice, it is a perfect time to reflect on our own piece of the American mosaic. Bannock County occupies a unique and proud place in this history—built on the ancestral lands of the Shoshone and Bannock peoples, shaped by pioneers on the Oregon Trail, and grown into a vital hub of industry, culture, and education. Our community thrives because of the grit, optimism, and neighborly spirit we share.
To honor this milestone, we are hosting a full day of events at the Bannock County Events Complex. Admission to all activities and performances is free, so come out and celebrate our shared home with your neighbors.
Here is what is happening tomorrow.
After you finish the fun at one of the many 4th of July parades around Bannock County, join more than 30 local food trucks and vendors for lunch and grab the best spot to watch the fireworks.
Afternoon Car Show
Kickstart the holiday with the beloved annual Independence Day Car Show!
- Show Hours: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
- Location: grass area on the corner of Olympus and Fairgrounds Road.

- Parking: Starts at 11:00 AM
- Registration: Free (Sign up at the check-in tent or online ahead of time).
Bannock Field Main Stage
Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to the main field for an evening of live entertainment:
- 5:00 PM: Pie Eating Contest
- 6:00 PM: Live Music by Patrick Averill
- 7:00 PM: The Gibson Dance Group Powwow Exhibition
- 8:00 PM: Live Music by Dawson Moon & The Gamblers
Patriotic concert by the Idaho State-Civic Symphony at the Port
For a symphonic celebration, head over to the Portneuf Health Trust Amphitheatre at 8:00 PM.
In collaboration with the Rhapsody National Initiative, the symphony will perform classic American pieces from Aaron Copland, George Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein, and John Philip Sousa. Jordan Bowman will open the evening with “The Star-Spangled Banner.” The performance features renowned pianist Jeffrey Biegel and local jazz vocalist Jenna McLean performing America’s newest classical work, “Rhapsody in Red, White, and Blue.”
Fireworks at Dusk
The day concludes with a grand finale fireworks display at dusk, visible across the complex grounds. Don’t miss this milestone celebration tomorrow night!
