We hope you are enjoying the final weeks of summer! As July comes to a close and the new school year approaches, we wanted to share a few important updates from our office.
Avoid the Lines: Renew by Phone
While foot traffic in our office has slowed slightly as families wrap up summer travel and prepare for school, we know your schedules are busier than ever. As a reminder, you do not need to visit in person to handle your renewals—you can conveniently renew your registration over the phone by calling us at 208-236-7200.
Update on Vehicle Registration Decals
We appreciate your patience as we transition away from registration stickers. To address common questions regarding the recent change:
- License Plate Decals: Effective July 1, 2026, state law no longer requires registration stickers or decals for vehicle plates. Consequently, they are no longer issued by the state or county offices.
- Exceptions: Please note that decals for watercraft, recreational vehicles (RVs, ATV’s, UTV’s, Motorbikes, and Snowmobiles), and Idaho State Parks passes are still required and we still issue them.
Thank you for your continued cooperation as we navigate these policy changes. If you have any questions or need assistance, please feel free to reach out to our team.
As always, we sincerely appreciate your continued support and engagement with our office. It is a privilege to serve our community, and your patronage allows us to maintain a welcoming environment for in-person service. We look forward to assisting you whether it be over the phone, or in person!
