Ririe, Idaho – Endowment lands within the Kelly Canyon block south of Moody Creek are open again for recreation.
Due to the risk of erosion on lands that have burned, it is more important than ever that people stay on established roads and trails.
The endowment lands in Kelly Canyon had been closed to recreation during the Big Rock fire as a safety measure for both the public and firefighters.
The wildfire was discovered on July 31 near the Kelly Canyon Ski resort about five miles east of Ririe. It was managed by the U.S. Wildland Fire Service with a final acreage of about 2,142 acres.
