Pocatello–The historic James H. Brady Memorial Chapel will undergo preservation and restoration work this Spring. The Brady Chapel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The kick-off event is May 7, 12 p.m. at the Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 South 5th Avenue.

After many years of fundraising, seeking grants, and the efforts of the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC), Friends of the Brady Chapel, local volunteers, City Staff, and support of the City Council, Phase I of the project will officially commence May 1 and is anticipated to be completed at the end of the summer.

Phase I work focuses on the cleaning and repointing of masonry on the exterior façade as well as replacing the pinnacles, replicated to match the original. Highlander Masonry, LLC are the contractors for the project and Myers Anderson Architects of Pocatello are the project engineers. Chapel tours and activities will be on hold until the project is complete.
