Today the Idaho House voted to override Governor Brad Little’s veto of HB 135a, a proposal that would limit the governor’s emergency powers. The vote was 48-19, giving the majority the two-thirds needed to successfully override the veto.
The bill now heads to the Idaho Senate, where it’s fate is less certain. Earlier in the week, five Republicans changed their positions from their initial votes on April 15 to pass similar legislation, thus allowing the governor’s veto of that bill to stand.
