Bannock County is inviting the public, media, and the 2021 Pocatello Mayoral Runoff election candidates to observe officials certify the County Ballot Tabulation Machines ahead of the upcoming election.

On Tuesday, Nov. 23 at 2:00 p.m., Bannock County Clerk Jason Dixon and Elections Administrator Julie Hancock will test the County’s Elections Systems & Software DS450 central scanner and tabulator.

Volunteers from the League of Women Voters, the Democratic Party, and the Republican Party will be in attendance for the certification.

“We want to ensure voters are confident in the integrity of our voting systems and the way we count ballots.  Nothing is more important to our democracy than a secure and accurate election process,” said Clerk Jason Dixon.

Early voting for the Nov. 30 election has begun at the Elections Office on North 6th Avenue. The last day to vote early is Friday, Nov. 26.
