Idaho Day was celebrated today at the State Capitol in Boise.
Lt. Governor Janice McGeachin commented on the celebration, saying. “Idaho Day is being celebrated today at our Capitol! Every March 4, we observe Idaho Day, which marks the 158th anniversary of the creation of the Idaho Territory by President Abraham Lincoln on that day in 1863.
Idaho Day is an opportunity to showcase the Gem State’s treasured past, thriving present, and unlimited future. On March 4, 2014, HB 378 was signed into law, creating an annual recognition and celebration of March 4th as “Idaho Day.” Spearheaded by the Idaho Historical Society, Idaho Day is enjoyed throughout the state by schools and universities, state agencies, and other organizations.”
