According to various news sources, foreigners from around the world are heading to Ukraine to help defend the country against an invasion by Russian forces.

Ukraine, according to First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Eugene Jenin, will offer such fighters Ukrainian citizenship.

“I want to note that their number is growing [foreign volunteers].  To do this, we identify responsible persons from the State Border Guard Service, from among the State Migration Service, who are responsible for their organized entry into the territory of Ukraine.  In the future, they are taken care of directly by the Ministry of Defense.  They sign the relevant contract, receive a military ID, which replaces their residence permit.  In the future, if such persons from among foreign citizens are interested in obtaining Ukrainian citizenship, then our legislation provides for such an opportunity for them,” Jenin said.
