The contest has three different levels, and students who are in kindergarten through 12th grade during the 2021-2022 school year are eligible to enter. Students may be in public school, private school, or homeschool. Cash prizes for winners at the local level range from $25 to $75. Winners advance to the national contest for a chance to win additional prizes.
Prize money for the winning students is raised by the AMVETS organizations and from donations by local businesses. Contributing to the prize fund this year are Premier Mortgage Resources, the Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer, and Realtors Chris & Margaret Schnitzler.
