On Monday, June 27, the group Patriots for Liberty & Constitution will begin discussing Alexis de Tocqueville’s ‘Democracy in America‘ Book 1 Chapter 1. The discussion will be led by Art da Rosa.
According to the event notes, “Tocqueville wrote four books or reports, which later were translated to English and combined into one book in America. We will only read books 1 and 2.
Book 1 Chapter 1 is on the origin of our nation. Tocqueville did a great job describing the history, culture, and demographic information of our nation. More than the information, it was the way he described America that I love. If have a copy of the book, I encourage you to read it. An audio version of the book is available somewhere too. With that, have fun reading.”
The group meets at Mountain Valley Baptist Church, 202 S. 7th Avenue in Pocatello, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
