POCATELLO, ID–Reconnect Southeast Idaho will offer the next in their series of Self-Reliance courses, “Understanding Trauma and Resilience”, on July 12, at 7:00 p.m. The class will be taught by Chad Bannister, who has spent a great deal of time studying and working with the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) during his career in law enforcement.
ACE refers to the trauma in one’s childhood that impacts the ability to thrive in adulthood. Chad explains, “It is like everyone is driving around in an old truck just fixing things as they come, always struggling and wondering why it is this way. Then one day you see a new truck and realize for the first time that not every car is or has to be this way. When we are aware of our own why’s in how we act under stress as well as those we love, our self-awareness can add to self-reliance in handling the stress that comes with it.”
To sign up for the class, contact Reconnect Southeast Idaho at 208-572-0177 or message them on Facebook, here.
