(Jake Stevens for State Representative Press Release, October 8, 2022)

Pocatello, ID–Following the most recent release of campaign disclosure reports, Republican Jake Stevens calls on the Idaho Secretary of State to investigate campaign finance violations by Democrat Nate Roberts. In his most recent campaign finance disclosure report, Nate Roberts lists several disbursements to local barbershop “Ef.Fin” in violation of Idaho state law. Using campaign funds to pay for personal expenses such as a haircut is a blatant violation of campaign finance law which legally forbids using campaign funds for personal use.

“This is a clear misuse of campaign funds according to Idaho law,” said Republican Jake Stevens. “If Nate Roberts can’t be trusted with campaign funds, then why should the people of Pocatello entrust him with their tax money?” Stevens continued. “Nate Roberts has shown that he is not fit to hold office and should immediately drop out of the race. The Idaho Democratic Party should disavow Mr. Roberts. I am now calling on the Idaho Secretary of State’s Office to investigate this matter and take appropriate action.” The law Jake Stevens is referencing can be found here.
