On Monday, October 17, the group Patriots for Liberty & Constitution will begin discussing Alexis de Tocqueville’s ‘Democracy in America’ Book 2. The discussion will be led by Art da Rosa.
According to the event notes, “Congratulations! We have completed the discussion on Book 1, or I should say Volume 1. Due to book editions, I cannot be certain of the chapters and book designations. Regardless, we will be starting Volume 2. It has 2 Books. The first one has 6 very short chapters and will attempt to go over them in 2 discussions. For clarification, the titles of the chapters are:
Ch 1, Philosophical Method of the Americans;
Ch 2, How Religion in the United States Avails itself of Democratic Tendencies;
Ch 3, Progress of Roman Catholicism in the United States.”
The group meets at Mountain Valley Baptist Church, 202 S. 7th Avenue in Pocatello, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
