(City of Pocatello Press Release, November 4, 2022)
The City of Pocatello recently awarded a construction contract to Timberlake Construction, LLC, for the 5MG tank transmission line replacement project. Funding is provided through the Water Department’s capital reserve budget. The contractor will start mobilizing the site, and construction will begin November 7, 2022.
The project includes the replacement of two large-diameter waterlines in West Putnam Street, Centennial Park, and Fore Road, with a total length of approximately 6,500 feet. The project route has been identified to minimize public impact while maintaining the lowest cost. The pipeline will require trenchless crossing underneath the Portneuf River and Union Pacific Railroad.
The construction work will be completed in several phases, with a project completion date of October 2023.
Officials are asking parents and guardians to warn children about the safety hazards associated with construction and to have them stay a safe distance from construction zones.
