For those who want something fun to do this weekend that doesn’t involve shopping, here’s a list of festive activities to get you and your family in the holiday spirit. Please note that while some activities take place in stores, none of them are shopping-focused.
Friday, December 9 and Saturday, December 10: Donuts With Santa is a great way to kick off the Christmas season! Come enjoy a magic show, face painting, balloon animals, a craft, pictures with Elsa, Olaf, the grinch, Santa and Mrs. Claus! Friday, December 9, 6:00 p.m.: Christmas at Cotant Park. Join us as we light up Cotant Park for the Holiday Season, with Hot Cocoa, Cookies, and Candy Canes sponsored by Idaho Central Credit Union & CM Company. Music will also be provided by Highland High School Trouveres and Pocatello High School Gate City Singers.
Friday, December 9 and Saturday, December 10, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.: Christmas Lights Tour with a Horse on a Hay Ride! Come take a ride with Cocoa, the smallest working therapy horse in the USA, and see the lights in Pocatello. Each ride is a 15 min tour of the route shown on the map. We will pick up and drop off on Hiskey at the corner of Hiskey and Butte near Gate City Elementary. Ride on the hay trailer with the horse and be pulled by a pickup to see the lights. $5 per person. Or $20 for a family pass(up to 6 immediate family members) Purchase tickets online if you want to use a card, or you can pay cash/Venmo at the time of the ride.
Friday, December 9, 7:00 p.m.: Snake River Radio Players’ A Christmas Carol, streamed live on their Facebook page from Trinity United Methodist Church in Idaho Falls.
Saturday, December 10, 6:00 p.m.: 2022 Fort Hall Parade of Lights. The route will start at Timbee Hall, wrapping around Ross Fork (aka Simplot), Eagle, and Agency.
